HYDERABAD: Floodgates of Himayatsagar reservoir may likely open on Monday as inflows into the reservoir touched the 1762.30 feet mark on Sunday night.
Officials of Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB), who are ascertaining the inflows, told TOI, “If another 1.35 feet is added to the reservoir, there will be no other option but to open the floodgates on Monday.”
Heavy downpour in upstream areas of Himayatsagar led to a spike in the water levels on Sunday from afternoon itself. We have observed 2,500 cusecs inflows reaching at reservoir, added the official.
