MANALI: Two minor girls, including one speech and hearing impaired, became pregnant, following rape in two different cases.
According to police sources, 16-year-old hearing and speech impaired girl and studies in a special school, was raped by an unknown person a few months ago. Now, the girl is four-month pregnant. After a complaint from mother of the victim, police have registered a case under sections 376(2)(L) of IPC and 6 of POCSO Act.
Another case was registered after a complaint from Childline that a 17-year-old boy had sex with a 15-year-old girl two times in February and he again took the girl to Lahaul-Spiti on August 1. The girl is now six-month pregnant. Police have registered a case under relevant sections of IPC Act and sections 4, 6 of POCSO Act.
Police said further investigations are on.
