SHIMLA: Leader of Opposition Mukesh Agnihotri has blamed former prime minister late Atal Bihari Vajpayee for scrapping old pension scheme for government employees.
While addressing Yuva Aakrosh rally at his Haroli assembly constituency of Una district on Sunday, Agnihotri said that Atal Bihari Vajpayee led government at Centre had done wrong with the employees by scrapping the old pension scheme. He said that on coming to power, Congress government will provide old pension scheme and it is just a matter of 90 days now.
Mukesh Agnihotri said that till the time old pension scheme is not implemented for the government employees in Himachal Pradesh, Congress government will neither use the helicopter nor it will buy big cars. “Himachal me tab tak kuchh nahi hoga, jab tak karamachariyon ki purani pension nahi lagegi.” (In Himachal Pradesh nothing will be done till the old pension scheme is not implemented for the employees)
He said that only the regular jobs with pension would be provided in government sector and the system of involving middlemen and contractors for outsource employees will also be scrapped. He said that at present middlemen and contractors are taking cuts of Rs 3000 to 4000 for every single outsource employee and on coming to power Congress government will remove all these contractors and will transfer the salary direct into the accounts of outsource employees.
He said that state government at present has pending liability of Rs 12000 crore towards the government employees and Congress government will pay every single penny of this liability. He said that pension will also be provided to women between the age of 18 to 60 years.
He said that current regime has sold the jobs and people who had sold papers of police constable recruitment examination are sitting in State Secretariat and Police Headquarter and Congress on coming to power get the police constable recruitment examination scam probed properly.
He said that Congress is committed to provided 20 lakh direct and indirect employment on coming to power. He said that 5 lakh jobs would be provided in transparent manner while 15 lakh persons would be provided interest free loan to start their business.
