Himachal Pradesh CM Jai Ram Thakur hails PM Narendra Modi’s Mall Road walk

SHIMLA: Himachal Pradesh chief minister Jai Ram Thakur said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his recent visit to Shimla took a walk on the Mall Road as he could not stop himself from ensuring direct contact with the people, which shows his benevolence towards the state and its people. “On the other hand, a Congress Prime Minister during his visit to the state simply enjoyed a nap in the pleasant weather of Shimla,” he quipped. The chief minister said this while addressing a public meeting in Rampur after inaugurating and laying the foundation stones of 30 developmental projects worth about Rs 124 crore at Rampur on Friday.

He said that it was strange that despite being represented by Congress, several panchayats and villages of the area lack road connectivity. “The area was emotionally associated with a tall leader of the state, but it lacks basic facilities. People must ponder that how long they would keep themselves associated with a particular clan and let development suffer. Rampur is similar to my own area Seraj, and I have ensured that it gets priority in matters of development,” CM Thakur said.

He also announced the opening of a Sanskrit College at Shingla, HPSEB Sub Division at Neerath, police post at Kholighat, sub tehsils at Jeuri and Thalli-Chakti, bus stand at Sarahan and a fire post at Jeuri. He also announced Rs 10 crore for Tikkar-Khamadi road being constructed under CRF at a cost of Rs 108 crore.
