Himachal Pradesh: Apple growers to protest on September 13

SHIMLA: While the farmers in other parts of country are protesting against three farm laws, in Himachal Pradesh they are gearing up to launch an agitation on September 13 to protest against the failure of state government to protect their interests with regard to apple crop. Recently, various organsiations of apple growers held a meeting at Kotkhai in Shimla district to devise their strategy for the agitation. In the meeting, seven organisations of farmers, including representatives of Kisan Sangharsh Samiti, PGA, Young Growers Association, Himachal Kisan Sabha, Ghyal Paryavaran Samiti, Bharatiya Kisan Union, Apple Growers Association participated. A 27-member regional committee of the United Kisan Manch was formed. In which convener Sushil Chauhan and co-convener Pratap Thakur were elected.
