Hillingdon station stabbing: Three arrested after Tashan Daniel knifed to death at west London Tube station

Three people have been arrested after a 20-year-old man was stabbed to death at a west London Tube station.

Officers today arrested two men, aged 19 and 21, on suspicion of murder, and an 18-year-old woman on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Tashan Daniel was stabbed to death in what is thought to be an unprovoked attack as he made his way to the Emirates Stadium to watch Arsenal play against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday, September 24.

His dad, Chandima, 48, told the BBC how he had run to Hillingdon station after hearing that someone had been attacked.

He said: “I was hoping it was mistaken identity — there was no way it was going to be Tashan.”

A spokesman for British Transport Police said today: “This afternoon, a 21-year-old man from Uxbridge and a 19-year-old man from Wembley were both arrested on suspicion of murder in central London.

“Earlier this morning, an 18-year-old woman from West Drayton was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

“All three remain in police custody for questioning.”

Detective Chief Inspector Sam Blackburn said: “We have been working around the clock to trace those responsible for Tashan’s death and this is a positive step in the ongoing investigation.

“I’d like to thank Tashan’s family for their patience and strength and once again extend our deepest condolences to them. They are continuing to be supported by specially trained family liaison officers.

“I know the local community and many people across the country have been truly shocked by this senseless and unprovoked killing, and we will continue to work tirelessly to make sure those responsible face justice.”
