Visitors hoping to make the most of the glorious bank holiday weather by making a trip to Wirral's Hilbre Island are likely to be disappointed.
The popular spot remains out of bounds to all visitors after fire broke out at an island cave on Friday evening.

Emergency services were called to the scene after smoke was seen billowing out of the cave, off West Kirby , at around 7.30pm.
Wirral Council has now installed physical barriers to stop anyone gaining unauthorised entry to the area.
Mersey Fire & Rescue Service said there was a risk of the cave overhang collapsing, while the fire itself continues to smoulder and emit toxic smoke.
The cause of the fire inside the cave has not yet been established but it is known to involve building materials.
