Hilary Duff reveals beloved dog Jak has died as she shares heartfelt tribute with fans

Hilary Duff has revealed that her beloved dog Jak has passed away, with her having shared a heartfelt tribute to her four-legged companion on social media earlier today.

The actor, 34, announced the sad news on Instagram, where she shared a series of photos alongside a message about Jak, whom she'd had for almost two decades.

She wrote: "Rest easy my sweet Jak. A true fine wine. We won't miss you peeing all over the house or barking all night but I was so lucky to get almost two decades with you!"

The How I Met Your Father star said that Jak and her other dogs over the years had helped prepare her for the responsibility of having her three young children.

Hilary added that Jak had given her "a lot of comfort and love" over the years, particularly when she had "needed it the most," with her then saying an emotional goodbye.

She concluded the post on social media by writing: "Night night angel, I know it's endless [dog bones] up there for you! Say Hi to the OG pack. Love you guys."
