Evil Genius, an iconic and hilarious sim game which lets you live out your wildest, most elaborate supervillain plans is now free for a limited time.

Courtesy of UK studio Rebellion, this promotion is to celebrate the upcoming release of the sequel, which is listed on Steam as coming out in 2020.

This gem was first released in 2004 and was met with riotous applause. Think James Bond, Austin Powers and basically any spy-related cliche, and you've got Evil Genius.

Set in an alternate 1960s era, you can control one of three supremely evil characters as you set out to control the entire world with your nefarious and elaborate schemes.

You don't have to look far on the game's Steam page to find glowing reviews and heaps of praise for the innovation this 2004 game brought to the stage. As far as simulator games go, it is definitely one of the better ones.

If you thought that owning a Bunker or Doomsday base in Grand Theft Auto V Online was peak evil in video games, Evil Genius will show you how it is actually done.

The gameplay is split between base management and the completion of “acts of infamy” in the rest of the world, giving you a deep-dive into how to control the world.

Rebellion has not said when this promotion will end, so you best grab this game fast to avoid heartbreak.

To claim your free Steam copy of the original Evil Genius, all you have to do is click this link and follow the instructions.

With Evil Genius 2: World Domination on the way eventually, now is the perfect time to return to where it all began with the first entry and live out your deep-seated Dr Evil cosplaying dreams.
