Hilarious video shows pet dog who jumps like a kangaroo when he goes for a walk

This cocker spaniel gets mistaken for a kangaroo when he goes for a walk - because he gets so excited he repeatedly bounces down the road.

Adorable pooch Rupert gets so pumped up for walks with owners Molly Lethbridge and Joe Wilson, 24, that the one-year-old bounds down the road in Devon.

Hilarious footage shows Rupert leaping two feet clean off the ground while train conductor Molly, 24, walks behind him holding his lead.

Another video shows the cocker spaniel bouncing up and down while his furiously wagging tail propels him as water technician Joe runs down the path towards him.

Molly said: "Rupert started jumping on his first ever walk out of excitement and he gets about two feet off the ground.

"When he first did it we thought it was hilarious, but we have gotten so used to it, we often wonder why people are laughing at us until we realise that it's such an unusual thing for a dog to do. It makes so many people laugh and we've never had somebody ignore it, it really makes people happy.

"We've had some comments saying he's like a kangaroo, which is funny because we have always called him Ru (Roo) instead of Rupert.

"Other people have compared him to Tigger or a frog. He only ever jumps on his lead at the very start of his walk as he's so excited and I don't think we walk fast enough for him."

One commenter said: "When you order a kangaroo off Wish."

Another joked: "That's not a dog, that's a kangaroo."

One person wrote: "The dog's like 'what I'm practising for the Olympics'."

Another joked: "Must be a springer."
