Hilarious spelling error spotted on Ireland jersey ahead of Luxembourg clash

Eagle-eyed Ireland fans have spotted a hilarious spelling error on the team's jersey to face Luxembourg tomorrow.

The Boys in Green's kit manufacturers Umbro had posted a competition for fans to win a replica match shirt ahead of the World Cup qualifier.

But fans soon realised a brilliant typo on the shirt as it stated that Stephen Kenny's side were squaring off against 'Lumembourg'.

And after dozens of fans pointed out the error, Umbro Ireland quickly clarified that the Ireland players would not be wearing that same shirt in the Aviva Stadium clash.

Umbro Ireland tweeted: "Don’t worry, we’re fully aware that we’re not playing 'Lumembourg'!

"This spelling is not on the players shirts for the match. Either somebody in our kit room is in the Friday frier OR did we do it to get attention".

Kenny's side come into the match in search of their first win under the new boss after they were beaten 3-2 by Serbia on Wednesday.

Ireland led 1-0 in Belgrade thanks to an Alan Judge goal in the first half, but found themselves 3-1 down coming into the final few minutes - with a James Collins reply proving a late consolation.
