Hilarious new Nicola Sturgeon spoof video goes viral

Stand-up Janey Godley has released another of her trademark Nicola Sturgeon voice-over videos – this time on the subject of Catherine Calderwood’s controversial visits to her second home in Fife.

Janey’s last Nicola Sturgeon video went viral after she dubbed her voice over the First Minister’s speech telling Scots that we must all do the right thing to battle the virus and that "life shouldn’t feel normal right now".

Now she’s done it again, this time the comic has put her own voice over the awkward press conference given by Nicola Sturgeon following news that the former chief medical officer had been visiting her second home in Fife.

In response to a question about whether her other ministers would be visiting their second homes, Godley responds, in character, that Sturgeon had been planning: “to head down to Torremolinos.

“But naw I cannae go. We all cannae leave the hoose.”

The clip quickly went viral and has been watched over 61,000 times.

And it seems like the people of Fife can take a joke, Godley has just confirmed she’ll be playing a gig at the Alhambra Theatre, Dunfermline, on March 25, 2021.
