Hilarious moment when Glasgow dad mistakes brush on fence for exotic bird

Times may be hard right now, but there's always something going on in Glasgow to make us laugh.

Tonight, it's the hilarious moment a Glasgow dad mistook a brush balancing on a fence for an exotic bird.

Stephen Maguire's wife Julie was tickled indeed when her husband Stephen told her he had seen an injured bird in the garden.

Dad-of-three Stephen went out to take a picture thinking it was someone's pet parrot that had gotten lost, so he could post it onto a local Facebook page.

Little did he know, the 'parrot' was actually the handle of a brush that had caught the end of a garden slide and looks like a bird's tail - albeit a very bright blue one!

Julie posted a picture of the brush and Stephen's hilarious mistake - which does have a definite likeness to a parrot - onto a local Facebook group, and it seems so were others as the picture has gone viral.

Julie, from Croftfoot, posted the picture to a local Facebook group writing: "Something to make you giggle...my husband looks out our window to our garden and says “someone’s pet parrot is in our garden! It doesn’t look very well! I’ll go try and catch it and you can put it on a local Facebook page."

Julie continues: "off he goes and my phone rings. All I can hear is hysterical laughing, husband can’t actually speak!! I hear..."it’s a brush, it’s a brush ” This lockdown is affecting us all!"

Stephen told Glasgow Live " In my defence, we’ve had a lost parrot in the garden before...but never a blue one!"
