Hilarious moment golden retriever sabotages weather forecaster's live broadcast

US audiences were treated to an impromptu ray of sunshine when an adorable golden retriever interrupted a live weather forecast.

Meteorologist Paul Dellgatto, of Tampa Bay’s Fox 13 news channel, was attempting to share the latest Florida updates when his dog Brody sparked some technical faults.

Mr Dellegatto, working from home, was in the middle of running through temperatures over the coming days when Brody knocked into his computer.

“The map’s not gonna move because he just whacked the computer with his head, so let me just verbalise the forecast OK?,” the weatherman says in the footage, allowing the pup to leap up onto his lap.

Wagging his finger at his nonplussed pet, he scolds: “That wasn’t very smart.”

A distracted Mr Dellegatto then continues his forecast as Brody gazes happily up at his owner.

He then reassures the fidgety dog: “We’re going to eat after this,” before trying to wrap things up.

However, Brody has other ideas - jumping down and rushing to the window where he sees the cameraman, Craig, filming outside on the porch to maintain social distancing.

“Oh boy,” Mr Dellegatto sighs as Brody’s curious face fills the screen. “That’s not good.”

He ends the broadcast by telling viewers: “Thanks for bearing with us, we’ll have your complete forecast, including all the little graphics, coming up at 4.45pm.”

Despite his apparent exasperation, there can be no denying Mr Dellegatto’s affection for his mischievous pooch – on the table behind him sit two framed photos of Brody, smiling contentedly.
