A Stonehouse theatre club have come up with a pure `KLASS’ way of interacting with their students during the coronavirus outbreak.
KLASS Musical Theatre Group have, like many other small businesses, been hit by the recent pandemic.
That means they have been forced to think outside the box to keep in touch with their students.
And Kirsten Longmuir, an established performer and performing arts lecturer at the Royal Conservatoire, has come up with a novel way of closing that gap.
Kirsten, who set up the Udstonmill Road theatre school in July 2018, is producing a series of fun videos with tasks and dances that her students and their parents can try out at home.
She explained: “It’s been a difficult time for us as we were working towards our summer production of Cats the musical.
“The kids have all worked so hard and it’s such a shame that we may have to postpone it.
“We started the videos to help our kids remain upbeat, active and positive.
“In these uncertain times it can be very easy to focus on the negatives which then in turn passes on to our children.
“I wanted to make sure that I was doing everything in my power to reach out to my students and the local community to help us all through this together with a little humour and light-heartedness.
“We will be regularly posting videos with dances, arts and crafts, songs and workout videos that the whole family can enjoy.
“We hope that in these uncertain times, KLASS continues to provide a place for children to escape, explore and learn for as long as possible in these uncertain times.”
