Hilarious King Charles pizza created by Scots takeaway ahead of Coronation

A Scots takeaway has created a hilarious pizza that looks like King Charles in honour of this weekend's Coronation.

Villaggio Pizza in East Renfrewshire say there is 'no malice intended' behind the cheesy creation but added the large ears give it a likeness to the King.

Pizza chef Gerry Sweeney, 54, used a traditional base for the the monarch's head, chips and jalapeños for the crown and red onion for the hair.

He created the lighthearted display at his Villaggio Pizza in Eaglesham last week and anticipates being asked for more during the coronation.

But Gerry won't be putting the special pizza up for sale because it would be too much work for the shop during the busy weekend.

He said: "It's definitely the ears which give it a likeness.

"I'm not going to do it for sale because it will be too much work, but I expect people wanting one for a party.

"I won't be watching the Coronation as I'll be working. The crown is made of chips and jalapeños, there's red onion for the hair.

"It goes quite well with the complexion. No malice is intended."
