Hilaria Baldwin has apologised for the recent controversy surrounding her heritage.
The yoga instructor, lifestyle influencer, and podcast co-host addressed the situation in an Instagram post on Friday.
She said she has "spent the last month listening, reflecting, and asking myself how I can learn and grow".
"My parents raised my brother and me with two cultures, American and Spanish, and I feel a true sense of belonging to both," she wrote.
"The way I’ve spoken about myself and my deep connection to two cultures could have been better explained – I should have been more clear and I'm sorry."
Baldwin added that she's "proud of the way [she] was raised", and that she and husband Alec Baldwin are "raising [their] children to share the same love and respect for both".
"Being vulnerable and pushing ourselves to learn and grow is what we've built our community on, and I hope to get back to the supportive and kind environment we’ve built together," she wrote.
The message is accompanied by a photo of herself with her husband as well as their five children.
Baldwin's heritage came into question in December 2020.
She insisted she did not intentionally create a false narrative about her origins, telling The New York Times at one point: "I think there is a difference between hiding and creating a boundary."
