Jan. 18--A hiker found human bones -- as well as the car of a missing La Crescenta woman -- in the Angeles National Forest on Sunday afternoon, police said.
The discovery marked a major break in the disappearance of 33-year-old Megan Sue Dipiazza, who disappeared Nov. 11, 2012, after leaving a note in her apartment saying "goodbye to her family," police said at the time.
A man hiking on a trail roughly 20 minutes up Angeles Crest Highway discovered the car, as well as Dipiazza's identification card, roughly 500 feet down a ravine, Glendale Police spokeswoman Tahnee Lightfoot said.

The hiker then searched her name online and called police.
By the time investigators arrived on the scene Sunday evening, it was too dark to conduct a search, so they returned on Monday morning.
Detectives found a photo of Dipiazza and her family in the car as well as credit cards. The key was in the ignition, but the seat belt was unfastened, Lightfoot said.
Investigators also found multiple human bones.
Glendale police, along with Los Angeles County coroner's officials, were on the scene investigating.
