Highly-rated youngster trains with Chelsea first-team as Mason Mount calls for more action against racial abuse

Welcome to our football.london Chelsea media watch piece. Maybe not the first, we've definitely done transfer round-ups before, and European round-ups, so I guess in some ways it's not that new at all. Anyway, we thought we would enter the world of football in a broad and roundabout manner for you and have some fun with some of the stories and captions doing the daily rounds.

Mason Mount calls for racists to be banned

Speaking to the media after England's win on Thursday, Mason Mount said he felt “hurt” seeing his teammates suffer racial abuse.

“Callum and Reece are people I’ve grown up with from a young age. It is not acceptable to have that abuse,” he explained.

“We all love football, but it doesn’t go past that. It is difficult to see when you’ve grown up with these boys. They are like family, so when it happens it hurts. It should not continue any longer.”

He continued to suggest that there should be tougher punishment for racist offenders: “Consequences need to take place and the FA will be speaking to FIFA about it. Hopefully, it keeps getting put to them and they hand out bans but it needs to stop and we need to get this out of football.”

Bakayoko wants Milan stay

Tiemoue Bakayoko signed a two-year loan deal at Inter Milan and wants to avoid a return to the Blues, where he’s had little playing time.

According to Goal, the 27-year-old told reporters: "I hope to stay here even after these two years on loan, everyone knows how attached I am to this club that I consider my home."

Bakayoko added: "When you are at Milan you must always aim to the maximum, I will give my all to win as many trophies as possible. At this point in my career, I need stability after all these loans, so I hope to stay at Milan for a long time. I will do everything possible to make that happen."

Mbuyamba excited to train with first-team

Xavier Mbuyamba took to Instagram to express his delight at being invited to train with the first-team squad by Thomas Tuchel. The 19-year-old defender joined from Barcelona last summer and is seen as a highly-rated youngster.

He wrote on social media: “A moment I’ve been working towards since joining this incredible club. Truly blessed to be training with the first team this week. Lots to learn and my motivation is on another level right now!”

The player sustained a long-term knee injury which kept him out for eight months, just after his arrival at Stamford Bridge.
