Highly-rated Nottingham Forest youngster signs new long-term Reds deal

Highly-rated youngster Will Swan has put pen to paper on a new long-term Nottingham Forest contract.

The 20-year-old has striker has agreed fresh terms which will keep him at the City Ground until June 2024.

It is reward for the Nigel Doughty Academy’s recent form which has seen him force his way into Chris Hughton’s first-team.

After scoring eight times for the Reds’ Under-23s this season, Swan made his senior debut last month when he came off the bench against Swansea City.

And he made his second appearance for the club at the weekend, again coming on as a substitute, in the 2-0 defeat at Reading.

The forward posted on social media: “Delighted to extend my time with @NFFC. Hard work starts now.”

Announcing the news, Forest said: “Nottingham Forest are delighted to announce that Will Swan has signed a new long-term contract with the club.

“Swan has made his first-team breakthrough this season, coming off the bench to make his first senior appearances for the club against Swansea and Reading.

“The academy graduate has been in fine goalscoring form for the Under 23s, scoring eight times, earning the call-up to the first team, and he has now been rewarded with a new contract.”
