Highly-rated Nottingham Forest youngster secures loan move

Nottingham Forest youngster Jordan Gabriel has joined League Two Scunthorpe United on loan.

The highly-rated defender will spend the rest of the season with the Iron.

Gabriel has been a regular for the Reds’ Under-23s and was handed his senior debut by Sabri Lamouchi earlier this season.

The 21-year-old was a late substitute in the 5-0 Carabao Cup defeat at Arsenal in September.

And most recently, he was on the bench for the senior side in the FA Cup, when they made the trip to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea - a game which finished in a 2-0 defeat.

The right-back joined Forest from Southend United in 2015 and earned a professional contract the following January.

Handed the No.15 shirt, he will now look to get some league experience at Scunthorpe and could make his debut this weekend, at home to Crewe Alexandra tomorrow.

Paul Hurst’s side currently sit 14th in the bottom tier.
