A "highly intoxicated" motorist found themselves in hot water after they were stopped somehow driving a car that had its entire front bumper torn off.
The driver was stopped by gardai in the early hours of the morning in south Dublin after they were spotted "driving erratically".
A picture posted on social media by gardai shows the shocking damage to the car.
The front bumper had been torn off and one of the headlights had fallen out.
Gardai said the damage to the motor had recently been done and the driver was unable to explain how it happened.
The motorist was arrested and had their car seized.
Gardai said: "DMR South Roads Policing Unit spotted this badly damaged car driving erratically in the early hours.
"Driver was found to be highly intoxicated and unable to explain the fresh damage to the vehicle. Driver arrested and vehicle seized."
