LONDON (Reuters) - Highlights of the ninth day at Wimbledon, the third Grand Slam tournament of the year, on Wednesday (times GMT):

1800 NADAL SETS UP SEMIS DATE WITH FEDERER

Third seed Rafa Nadal was tested in the opening set but eventually came away with a 7-5 6-2 6-2 last-eight victory over American Sam Querrery.

The Spaniard will now face Roger Federer, against whom he has a 24-15 win record, in the semi-finals.

1725 TON UP FOR FEDERER AS HE REACHES SEMIS

Eight-times champion Roger Federer won his 100th singles match at Wimbledon, fighting back from a set down to beat Japan's Kei Nishikori 4-6 6-1 6-4 6-4.

The Swiss fired an ace on match point to clinch the contest in two hours and 36 minutes and will play the winner of the quarter-final between Rafa Nadal and Sam Querrey.

1520 BAUTISTA AGUT ADVANCES

Spain's Roberto Bautista Agut beat Argentine Guido Pella 7-5 6-4 3-6 6-3 in a thrilling encounter that lasted just over three hours to move into his first Grand Slam semi-final where he will play top seed Novak Djokovic.

1517 'MURRENA' OUSTED

Over on Court Two, Andy Murray and Serena Williams crashed out of the mixed doubles in the last 16 as top seeds Bruno Soares and Nicole Melichar won 6-3 4-6 6-2 in 90 minutes.

1410 DJOKOVIC BREEZES PAST GOFFIN

Top seed Novak Djokovic brushed aside Belgium's David Goffin 6-4 6-0 6-2 in a little less than two hours on Centre Court to seal his spot in the semi-finals.

The world number one Serb broke Goffin seven times in the match, winning 19 points at the net while the Belgian made 23 unforced errors.

1210 PLAY GETS UNDER WAY

The men's quarter-finals began in sunny conditions with the temperature hovering at 25 degrees Celsius with an expected high of 26C.
