Highlander actor and Friends cameo star Stan Kirsch dies, aged 51

An actor who starred in the TV show Highlander and played a cameo in Friends died, aged 51.

Stan Kirsch was perhaps best known for his role as Richie Ryan in Highlander, which he played for six series, reports the Mirror.

He was found dead at his home in Los Angeles on Sunday by his wife, Kristyn Green.

The actor was pronounced dead by paramedics who were called to the scene.

Kirsch had played a cameo in Friends when he played Ethan, who briefly dated Monica, played by Courtney Cox.

He played the part in The One with the Ick Factor in 1995.

Then he played Richie Ryan in Highlander from 1992 to 1998.

His widow, Kristyn, thanked her friends and family on Facebook for the "outpouring of love and support" and said she feels "surrounded by love and am forever grateful to each and every one of you".

Highlander's official Facebook group paid tribute to the actor for his "sense of humour, kindness and enthusiasm".

"It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Stan Kirsch", they said.

"Without Stan Kirsch, Highlander: The Series would have been far less. He brought a sense of humor, kindness and youthful enthusiasm to the character of Richie Ryan for six seasons."
