A pub and restaurant in a Highland tourist town has been put up for sale for £825,000.
The Grog & Gruel in Fort William has a ground floor lounge bar and a restaurant area on the first floor, a beer garden to the rear and a fully fitted commercial kitchen.
Owners and brothers Edward and Guy Daynes have decided to sell after 25 years to further develop their hospitality business in Glencoe. The asking price of £825,000 is for the freehold going concern.
Selling agent Christie & Co says the bar on the high street benefits from high of footfall with many people visiting the town on Loch Linnhe, in the shadow of Ben Nevis. The Nevis Range centre has hosted a round of the Mountain Biking World Cup since 2002 which attracts thousands of cyclists and fans.
The pub is also a venue for regular live music.
Edward and Guy said: “Food and drink in the Highlands looked quite different 25 years ago, and we set out with a 10 year plan to showcase Scottish products in a relaxed environment, and we’ve kind of got carried away with things.
"A quarter of a century later and we think that it’s time to let someone else take The Grog & Gruel to the next level, in a very exciting and dynamic market.”
