Highland Perthshire hotel is put up for sale at £1.6 million

Award-winning East Haugh House hotel in Pitlochry is on the market for offers over £1.6 million.

The four-star boutique hotel was recently crowned Scotland’s Hotel of the Year 2019 for the second year running at the Prestige Hotels Awards. It has 12 recently upgraded bedrooms, an award-winning restaurant which is in the Michelin Guide, and separate bar and lounge.

The house was originally part of the Atholl Estate and was converted into a hotel in 1989. The family who own it plan to retire. The property includes a four-bedroom house in the grounds which is used as the owners’ accommodation and a private lodge available for hire.

Selling agent Christie & Co says the hotel will require "very little capital expenditure" from its new owners. The price quoted is for the freehold interest.

Stuart Drysdale, director at Christie & Co’s Edinburgh office, said: “East Haugh House is one of Perthshire’s premier boutique hotels, reflected by the many awards and accolades received over the years. The hotel has been extremely profitable for the current owners and there is no reason that an experienced operator would not be able to enjoy similar levels of business, given the excellent standard of accommodation and service provided.”
