Highland Games to return to Loch Lomond this July

It’s time to dust off the kilts with the return of Loch Lomond Highland Games in July.

The popular event is making a comeback since it was last held before the pandemic and will be returning to Moss o’Balloch Park on Saturday, July 16.

The competition is one of the best in Scotland, with a prize pool of over £12,000 and former participants coming from as far afield as the United States and Canada to compete.

Amateur and professional competitors alike can register for the games, which will feature a variety of disciplines including running, cycling, wrestling, jumping, solo piping, pipe bands, Highland dancing, and the tug of war.

The Scottish Highland Games Association World Heavyweight Championship – which includes caber, hammer, and ball – will undoubtedly be the highlight.

Anyone who thinks they have what it takes to compete are being urged to enter. So, if you think you’ve got what it takes, enter online on West Dunbartonshire Council’s website.
