LUCKNOW: Lucknow University (LU) has received highest number of applications for admission to its postgraduate courses in the last three years.
For admission to 4717 seats, LU has received 28,504 application forms. While in 2021, the total applications received were 24684 and in 2020 as many as 19,664 had applied for various post graduate courses. According to university officials, with more LU-affiliated colleges opting for the university's centralised PG admission the number of applications has gone up.
Also, with the university getting A++ in the National Assessment Accreditation Council (NAAC) grading it has become the first preference for candidates.
Maximum applications of 2504 have been received for LLM followed by 1675 for MEd and 1581 for MCom courses.
Officials said the toughest fight will be for admission in MEd as against 20 seats, 1675 applications have been received which means 83 candidates will compete for one seat. For admission to 60 seats in LLM, 2504 candidates have applied. It means for single LLM seat 41 candidates are in the fray. Against 180 MCom seats applications received is 1581 hence at least 8 candidates will vie for one seat.
