High temperatures across Liverpool despite grey and damp day

Temperatures across Liverpool will soar back up today despite there being plenty of rain and cloud cover.

The Met Office have forecast another damp and grey day for the region but in a strange twist, it will be warmer than you would expect.

It is expected to rain from the early hours of the morning, although it will remain light and drizzly.

Throughout the day, there will be heavier outbreaks of rain in the North and the West so an umbrella is recommended for those expecting to be outside during the afternoon.

However, those who get wet will find themselves unusually warm and temperatures are expected to ride to around 20 °C at around 3pm.

A forecaster for the Met Office said: "A grey and damp start, with heavier outbreaks of rain in the north and west in the afternoon.

"In the south and east it will be drier and warmer though.

"Maximum temperature 20 °C."

The rain will return around 9pm on Thursday night but will quickly tail off, leading into a sunny day on Friday.
