Johnstone High Street was sealed off this morning after a man was found dead in the street last night.
Detectives are probing the death of the man, named locally as John Winters.
His body was discovered near the TSB at around 8.30pm last night.
His sister Lisa-Marie Winters wrote: "Can't believe I'm writing this but my wee brother Johnny passed away.
"Love you so much Johnny bhoy and always will. Absolutely heartbroken, still can't believe it."
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Around 8.30pm on Wednesday, police received a report of a disturbance in High Street, Johnstone. "Emergency services attended and a 26-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
"A 17-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.
"High Street remains closed as officers continue to conduct enquiries.
