High speed police chase through village with stolen vehicle left abandoned

Police were involved in a high speed pursuit which occurred after officers saw a stolen vehicle out on the roads. Occupants of a cloned stolen vehicle were reported to have broken into a van in the village of Horsley.

The stolen vehicle was spotted in Heanor and then Oakwood where the motorist failed to stop for local police officers. The Derbyshire Armed Response Unit saw the car on Raynesway, in Derby, which resulted in a high speed pursuit through Shardlow.

The vehicle was temporarily lost however in an extensive search officers found the vehicle abandoned near Sawley. The abandoned vehicle contained lots of expensive power tools.
