High school sprinting phenom accepts Ted Ginn’s $10,000 challenge

Matthew Boling is a high school sprinting phenom from Texas. And he’s looking to take up Ted Ginn Jr. on the New Orleans Saints’ reciever’s offer to race for $10,000 … or more.

Boling has already run a sub-10 second 100 and has captured the eyes of pop culture and track and field with his blistering speed.

Ginn, meanwhile, is 34 and still speaking as fast as he can run.  He ran a 4.37 in the 40-yard dash at the 2007 Combine while recovering from a sprained foot and said 4.22 is the fastest he has run. Ginn said on Adam Lefkoe’s show Thursday that he is willing to race anyone “pole to pole” for $10,000 or more.

Up stepped the confident high schooler, Boling, who is nicknamed “White Lightning.”

Check out this leg of the 4 1,600 meter relay by Boling, who has committed to run track at the University of Georgia.

That is closing speed.
