High school in Edinburgh evacuated after telephone bomb threat

A school in Edinburgh has been evacuated after a telephone bomb threat was made this afternoon.

Pupils at the Holy Rood RC High School were evacuated out of the building as police swooped on the site in the city's Duddingston area.

Officers remain on the scene with children being kept outside the school.

The school sits on the edge of Holyrood Park and Arthur's Seat and has 1,108 pupils - 519 boys and 499 girls.

Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
A  spokesperson said: "Police in Edinburgh are currently in attendance at a high school in the Duddingston area after a threat to the premises was received via phone at around 2.20pm on Monday 10 June.

"The building has been evacuated as a precaution and officers remain at the scene."
