A high school football player in Arizona is facing 69 counts of indecent exposure after his prank was published his the yearbook.
Hunter Osborn, a 19-year-old at Red Mountain High School, exposed himself during the varsity football team’s photoshoot, CBS Arizona reports, and the image was published to the school’s yearbook, which 3,400 people received.
Police became aware of the image on Saturday and interviewed Osborn, who was 18-years-old at the time. Based on his admission and number of football players in attendance, Osborn was charged with 69 counts of indecent exposure, Mesa Police Department officials said.
Indecent exposure is a class 1 misdemeanor in Arizona, and flashing harmful items to minors is a class 4 felony. The ages of students present during the photoshoot ranged from 15 to 19-years-old.
"It is still an ongoing investigation," detective Steve Berry told CBS. "The number of charges may go up or down depending upon how the investigation continues.”
Mesa Public Schools released a statement to ABC Arizona saying that they were dismayed by Osborn’s actions.
While the small size of the photograph as published makes the details difficult to discern, the yearbook has been recalled so the school can make a minor but critical edit for the inappropriate content."
Osborn has also been required to wear an electronic monitor during the investigation.
