High risk missing Castle Douglas woman sparks urgent police search

Police are appealing for urgent help to trace a “high risk missing” Dumfries and Galloway woman who vanished overnight.

Janette Doreen Sutton was reported missing from her home address Auchenbay, Castle Douglas, at around 10pm last night.

The 52-year-old left her home in a blue coloured Volkswagen Eos car and has not been seen or heard from since.

Concern is growing as Janette suffers from arthritis and requires medication.

She is described as being approximately 5ft 4 with short brown hair, blue eyes and is of average build.

Janette was last seen wearing jeans and a rusty red jacket. She also had a small leather/suede looking white/beige handbag.

Anyone with information or who may have seen Janette is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 3891 of February 19.
