High-flying Luton Town boss speaks fondly of his time at Bristol City

Mick Harford says he looks back on his days at Bristol City with fondness.

The Luton Town caretaker manager was at the Robins for one season, scoring 11 goals in 30 matches after moving from Newcastle United in 1981.

He moved on to First Division Birmingham City seven months after joining the Robins, and went on to have a successful career.

Harford returned to the city on Saturday with high-flying Luton, leading them to victory over Bristol Rovers, and he said it was good to return.

He said: "It was good to be back in Bristol, I like this city.

"I had a year down here a long time ago. Am I enjoying the job at this precise moment? Yeah, after a really hard-fought victory, we're in a good place.

"I loved playing for Bristol City, I had a good time there and I can remember it fondly.

"Bobby Houghton was the manager, Roy Hodgson was the assistant and I made some good friends down there.

"I still look out for their results."
