Hidden speakeasy arcade and chicken restaurant to open in former Slim's Pork Chop Express

A brand new venue has been confirmed to take over the former Slim's Pork Chop Express.

The award-winning independent restaurant and bar group, Graffiti Spirits Group , is opening the 'gourmet chicken takeaway' and 'quirky speakeasy-style retro arcade' in the Seel Street property.

Named 16 Bit Chicken, the new concept will join a host of other Graffiti Spirits Group venues including Salt Dogs Slims, Santa Chupitos, Santa Maluco, 81 Ltd, El Bandito, Bold Street Coffee and Castle Street Coffee.

Matt Farrell, co-founder of the group, said: "16 Bit Chicken will be the first of its kind in Liverpool. We’re combining morish takeaway food with a retro arcade that will take our guests on a journey, harking back to the days where these games were really popular.

"Seel Street is packed with bars and restaurants so 16 Bit Chicken will be ideal for a late night bite or for an alternative way to spend the night with friends and family."

Out-front 16 Bit Chicken will be a chicken takeaway restaurant, open during the day and into the early hours, serving fried chicken piece and burgers. Customers will be able to eat on the go or inside.

However, in the back, the new concept will have a hidden retro arcade packed with 16 different machines including Pac Man, Point Blank, Time Crisis and Golden Axe, to name a few.

16 Bit Chicken is expected to open this summer.
