Hidden message added to White House website after Joe Biden became President

A hidden message on President Joe Biden's flashy new White House website has gone viral on social media.

The website was updated while the new leader delivered his address to the nation as the newly installed 46th President of the United States.

But tech fans didn't take long to notice a little hidden addition buried in its HTML code - requesting savvy tech specialists get in touch.

"If you're reading this, we need your help building back better. https://usds.gov/apply," the message appealed.

It invites people to join the U.S. Digital Service, a technology unit within the White House.

Former President Barack Obama launched the tech team in 2014 to recruit specialists to help revamp government services.

The appeal has gone viral on social media - which possibly defeats the point of the hidden message.

One fan joked: "I hide hidden messages for programmers in my code too but it’s mostly cursing and expressions of confusion."

Another commented: "Learn how to code taken literally."

A third joked: "If you are reading this I need help' is how my documentation looks like as well."

The  new President dubbed today one of "renewal" as he was sworn in as the 46th president of the United States.

Mr Biden declared “democracy has prevailed” as he took over the White House following Donald Trump's four years of as president.

“This is America’s day. This is democracy’s day. A day in history and hope, of renewal and resolve,” the Democrat said.

But he noted that “the world is watching” as he took the oath of office in Capitol Hill, the scene of a violent insurrection from rioters just two weeks ago.

“Here’s my message to those beyond our borders. America has been tested and we’ve come out stronger for it.

"We will repair our alliances and engage with the world once again, not to meet yesterday’s challenges but today’s and tomorrow’s challenges,” Mr Biden said.

“And will lead not merely by example of our power but by the power of our example. We will be a strong and trusted partner for peace, progress and security."
