Hibs youngster Innes Murray set for Championship loan move as Alloa line up Easter Road prospect

Hibernian youngster Innes Murray is set to join Alloa Athletic on a loan deal until the end of the season.

The winger joined from Celtic in 2016, but has been restricted to just one senior appearance from the bench in the Challenge Cup win over Highland League outfit Turriff United three years ago.

He has since spent time out on loan at Stenhousemuir and Airdrieonians, playing five times for the Diamonds last year before the season was ended prematurely amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The Alloa Advertiser reports Wasps boss Peter Grant wants the 22-year-old to bolster his squad ahead of the return to second tier action in October.

Murray, who appeared twice as an unused substitute for the men in green and white, will join former Hibs academy prospect Scott Taggart at the Indodrill Stadium.

It comes after Jack Ross indicated namesake and Hibs teammate Fraser Murray was also set for a temporary move to the Championship, with Dunfermline Athletic the likely destination.
