Hibs vs St Johnstone lands new date with ticket costs slashed as part of trial for new initiative

Hibs have confirmed they will face St Johnstone under the lights at Easter Road on a Friday night with all match ticket prices slashed.

The Premiership duo were originally set to battle it out on Saturday, October 22 at 3pm but the game has now been moved to the Friday night [October 21] with a 7.30pm start. The request to move the fixture is part of a new initiative for the club and league by bringing back Friday night football.

The capital club have also reduced adult ticket costs to £10 and concessions to just £5 in the hope of creating a special atmosphere and selling out the ground. They hope it will encourage yet another memorable night game in Leith. A club statement read: "We can confirm that our home cinch Premiership fixture against St Johnstone has been moved to Friday 21 October, 2022; kicking off at 7.30pm.

"The game was originally scheduled to take place on Saturday 22 October, 2022; 3pm kick-off.

"After discussions with the SPFL, Police Scotland, and St Johnstone, we requested to move the fixture to trial a new initiative for the club, and the league, by bringing back Friday night football.

"A leader and innovator in Scotland, we are trying something different and want to create a special atmosphere under the lights at Easter Road.

"To create this, we have reduced all ticket prices (£10 adults, £5 concessions), in the hope that we can have another sold-out Easter Road! Tickets for the game will be on sale soon.

"We’ve had a number of memorable nights under the lights at Easter Road, so let’s hope this is another that lives long in the memory!"
