Hibs' rearranged trip to face Ross County on Wednesday night is still in doubt as the Easter Road club await the latest round of test results.
The Easter Road club this afternoon cancelled their pre-match press conference at short notice.
And Record Sport understands the club remain in talks with SPFL chiefs over pushing the game further back.
Hibs are angry at being forced to play the match so soon after Saturday’s original scheduled fixtures was postponed due to a covid outbreak among Jack Ross ’ squad.
Five players plus a member of staff are isolating. And with five more top team stars unavailable through injury it left the Hibees in a situation where they couldn’t field a team.
Members of their under 18 side were prevented from being called up due to the fact they had played less than 24 hours earlier on the Friday night.
Those youngsters are on standby for the trip to Dingwall tomorrow night.
Hibs have tested their squad every day this week but are pushing to have the match postponed again as they await results of today’s round of testing.
Talks between chief executive Ben Kensell and SPFL bosses remain ongoing this afternoon.
A statement released on Sunday said: “After long discussions with the SPFL and further positive Covid-19 tests the SPFL have re-arranged the fixture to take place this Wednesday 3 November, 2021 with a 7.45pm kick-off.
“We realise this is not ideal at all for our supporters, and for the team due to the positive tests, we have voiced our concerns and made our thoughts clear to the SPFL, but unfortunately this was to no avail.”
