Hibs vs Celtic blunder ref Kevin Clancy not included in appointments for latest round of games

Kevin Clancy hasn't been given a game at any level of the SPFL this weekend after his blunders during Hibs' draw with Celtic.

The whistler was at the centre of controversy after he denied Celtic two penalties, while Hibs also felt he should have shown a straight red card to Olivier Ntcham.

They were also angered by decisions made in the build-up to Celtic's equaliser while they felt they could have had a penalty of their own when Moritz Bauer slipped in the box only for Clancy to give a free kick the other way.

Both managers were heavily critical of him and Clancy hasn't got a game to referee and won't even be involved as a fourth official at any of the games in top four leagues this weekend.

Paul Heckingbottom was sent off during the game and said: “Listen, referees have bad games, make bad decisions, and you know I don’t come up here and moan about that.

“Literally phase of play, good press, we win the ball, break then five seconds later it is called back for something the fourth official has seen.

“Then that is not transmitted to the players.

“Some of them think it is a drop ball and they’re getting the ball back or something.

“Others understand it is a free kick so it was a shambles. A farce, that bit of play.

“I didn’t know that the water bottle had happened, I think it hit the linesman, so I shouldn’t have done that.”

Neil Lennon added: "I know we dropped points and people will be saying 'Oh, it's Lennon', but we should have two penalties today.

"The one on Moritz Bauer is a clear penalty and the one on Christie is a clear penalty.

"We didn't get a stonewall penalty against Kilmarnock, anyway, that's not the reason, well it might be, why we dropped points.

"They were not debatable penalties, they were clear penalties and would have changed the psychology of the game."

Celtic will have Willie Collum in charge of their game at the Tony Macaroni Arena on Sunday against Livingston while Hibs have Don Robertson.
