Hibs v Ross County player ratings as Easter Road side sign off 2020 with a home defeat

Hibernian slipped to a second home defeat of the season as Ross County secured an unlikely first win in 13 league games.

Jack Ross lambasted his side as "off it" in a game where they carved out precious few opportunities and allowed Harry Paton and Oli Shaw a strike in each half to seal a first three points for John Hughes as Staggies' boss.

It meant the men in green and white missed their opportunity to end the year in third place in the Scottish Premiership - a feat last achieved when Hughes was in the home dugout over a decade ago.

Here is how the players rated from a disappointing evening at Easter Road:

Dillon Barnes - 7

Untroubled for the vast majority of the game, even with the two goals, but did make a decent stop from Stephen Kelly in the first half.

Josh Doig - 6

Found the County midfield a more difficult proposition than James Tavenier and Rangers and was subbed for Lewis Stevenson after the break.

Paul Hanlon - 5

Turned far too easily by Jermaine Hylton for County's second.

Ryan Porteous - 5

Similar to his defensive partner, but also almost allowed Hylton in with a looping header back to Barnes.

Paul McGinn - 6

Steady and unspectacular, but did not close down Paton quickly enough for the County opener.

Martin Boyle - 5

Marked out the game and often wayward in his delivery.

Melker Hallberg - 6

Struggled to make an impact but unlucky with a decent effort from a free kick.

Joe Newell - 6

A few decent deliveries, but not up to his usual standard.

Drey Wright - 5

Toiled in a central role before being replaced by Jamie Gullan in the second half.

Christian Doidge -5

Wasted a good opportunity in the first half and headed wide in the second.

Kevin Nisbet - 5

Suffered from a chronic lack of service but was unusually wasteful when he had the ball.

Subs:

Jamie Gullan - 5

Came off the bench, but unable to carve out any real chances.

Lewis Stevenson - 5

Came on for Doig, but was off the pace.

Stephen McGinn - 3

Made little impact off the bench.
