Hibs v Rangers: Referee for Easter Road Premiership clash confirmed

The referee for Hibernian's clash with Rangers in the Scottish Premiership this weekend has been confirmed.

Don Robertson will take charge of the top-of-the-table meeting between the two sides at Easter Road on Sunday.

The 33-year-old whistler oversaw the Hibees' 1-0 win at Tannadice earlier this season courtesy of a Christian Doidge goal.

The card-happy official has only been involved in four top flight fixtures so far this season, but has handed out a remarkable 17 cards across those matches, with an additional ten handed out in one European tie - a thrilling extra time win for Faroese side B36 over Estonian outfit Levadia Tallinn.

Robertson - who took charge of Hibs' win over city rivals Hearts in the Boxing Day derby last year - was the target of Ibrox boss Steven Gerrard's ire when he sent off Alfredo Morelos after the Colombian forward made an obscene gesture towards the Motherwell crowd during a 2-0 win at Fir Park in December.

He is yet to brandish the red card at any player this season.
