Hibernian were unable to hold on to their two goal advantage as Diego Laxalt crashed home a late Celtic leveller at Easter Road to ensure a share of the spoils.
A gripping game in Leith saw the men in green and white race into a two-goal advantage courtesy of Jamie Murphy and Kevin Nisbet, but Odsonne Edouard's penalty dragged the visitors back into it.
A point is enough to keep the men in green and white in touch with Aberdeen in the race for the European spots in the Scottish Premiership.
