Hibs Tuesday headlines as club plans redundancies, Kamberi moves near exit door and Boyle is wanted in England

It has been a difficult start to the week for the men in green and white as transfer news is put to the side for a moment while the club attempts to address the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Warnings of huge cutbacks caused by a reduction in matchday revenue mean voluntary redundancies have been offered to non-playing 'office' and backroom staff.

Meanwhile, several youth coaches are also to be released as the club takes the bold decision to mothball its entire operation outside the first team.

That means any incomings are hugely unlikely for the time being, with outgoings suddenly becoming imperative.

Florian Kamberi was always assumed to be on his way, but our fee looks to be severely reduced, while several other key players are also being monitored.

It could be quite a long summer.

Cost cutting measures announced

Hibernian are to offer up voluntary redundancies to non-playing staff and allow several youth team coaches to leave the club as part of cost reduction measures.

The Easter Road side issued a dire financial warning on Monday amid Scottish football's coronavirus-induced shutdown, claiming their revenues will be cut in half over the next season.

The Leith outfit are to effectively mothball their entire operation outside the first team, with office and backroom staff offered voluntary redundancy to meet costs.

Kamberi on the cheap

Florian Kamberi could leave Hibs for a cut-price £150,000, although Rangers could face stiff competition should they enter the race to sign him.

Kamberi will reportedly be allowed to leave Easter Road for a bargain transfer fee with Hull City having already entered the race to sign the striker.

According to the Daily Record, Steven Gerrard remains keen on the 25-year-old but a host of other clubs are also watching closely.

Boyle interesting English duo

Hibernian winger Martin Boyle is on the shortlist of two English Championship sides as the Australian international enters the final year of his contract.

Reports suggest both Huddersfield Town and Stoke City are running the rule over the 27-year-old, who could be allowed to leave for a cut-price fee.

Boyle scored five times in 20 league games before the season was halted due to the pandemic, his most prolific top flight return to date, after battling back from two serious knee injuries.
