Hibs trip to Ross County called off as frozen Dingwall pitch fails inspection

Hibs' visit to Ross County has been called off in the midst of wintry conditions at Dingwall.

With heavy snowfall this week in the Highlands the Global Energy Stadium Pitch was checked on Friday ahead of Jack Ross' men traveling from the capital.

With temperatures set to plummet below zero overnight, the decision was taken to postpone the fixture.

The Hibees are on a run of three consecutive wins as they look to surge ahead in the race for third spot in the Premiership.

John Hughes' Staggies had hoped to bounce back from defeat to Dundee United in the fight at the bottom of the table.

Three Championship fixtures already off due to the ice-cold conditions, with Dunfermline's clash with Dundee and Ayr's trip to Kirkcaldy to face Raith postponed due to snow.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle vs Morton has also been axed in the Highlands.
