Innes Murray is enjoying regular first-team minutes on loan at Alloa but is unsure what his Hibs future holds.
The midfielder joined the Championship side on a short-term deal until the end of the season and feels fortunate to be playing football with the lower leagues currently suspended.
Murray's deal at Easter Road runs out in the summer, but there is an option to extend his contract for another year.
The 23-year-old admits he isn't sure what is happening on that front but is keen to fight for his place in Jack Ross' side next season if he's given the opportunity.
He told the Edinburgh Evening News: “I think my contract’s up in the summer, but there’s an option to extend, so I’m not too sure what’s happening just yet.
“If there was a chance to progress at Hibs then that would be ideal for me but if not, hopefully, I can stay full-time as long as possible and make a living playing football."
There is a host of Hibs players out on loan this season in League One and League Two and Murray feels lucky he's not in the same boat as them with Alloa.
He added: “Things are going well. The last few weeks have been a bit tricky. We’ve had a couple of defeats”
“But we just need to get back to doing what we were doing at the start of the season, and hopefully we can go on a wee run again.
“I’m also just glad to still be playing; there are five or six other boys at Hibs who are out on loan and aren’t playing at the moment because the lower leagues have been suspended, so we’re lucky to still be playing in the Championship.”
