Hibs transfer news as Easter Road side set to complete signing of QPR goalkeeper

Hibernian have completed a loan move for Queen's Park Rangers goalkeeper Dillon Barnes, Edinburgh Live understands.

The 24-year-old will link up with the Easter Road side on a season-long deal on Tuesday as backup to Ofir Marciano.

The former Fulham academy product will become Hibs' first loan signing of the summer window as Jack Ross looks to strengthen his squad.

Towering 6’4 stopper Barnes began his professional career with Fulham before moving on to Colchester United after a short stint with Bedford Town.

The U’s loaned him to Welling United and Hemel Hempstead before he made the switch back to London with QPR in 2019.

The men in green and white have been on the lookout for reinforcements between the sticks after Adam Bogdan departed the club at the start of the summer to join Ferencvaros.

That left Israeli international Marciano as the only senior goalkeeper, with 21-year-old Maciej Dabrowski as the only available backup.

Teenager Murray Johnston joined Ross's men for pre-season training at East Mains, but at 15, is far from ready for a first team bow.

Hibs are yet to concede from open play this season but lost their unbeaten record to Aberdeen in the final Premiership fixture before the international break.
