Hibs transfer latest: First-team defender departs while trio secure loan deals

Hibs defender Tom James has joined Wigan on-loan until the new year.

The right back will be with the English League One club until January 17, and could feature in their home match against Gillingham this weekend.

James has struggled to make an impact at Easter Road since joining last summer and found himself down the pecking order, behind Paul McGinn and captain David Gray.

Hibs said in a statement: "Tom heads south in search of regular competitive action and we wish him well for his spell at the DW Stadium."

In addition to James, three of the club's young players have also departed on loan.

Josh Campbell, who is part of the development squad, will spent a season with Edinburgh City in League Two.

Striker Connor Young and defender Jack Brydon will join Civil Service Strollers in the Lowland League.
